Annual IEEE SW Test Workshop
Wafer Testing and Probe Technology

Background | Presentations | EXPO | Attire
Social Activities | Registration Information | Hotel

Background: The IEEE Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology (CPMT) Society is the leading international forum for scientists and engineers engaged in the research, design and development of revolutionary advances in microsystems packaging and manufacture.  This is the only IEEE conference that deals specifically with wafer level testing. The two and one half-day event starts Sunday afternoon with registration, a reception, a buffet dinner, and a panel discussion. The conference adjourns on Wednesday at noon, in time to get most participants back to work by Thursday morning.  SWTW has grown to almost 500 attendees with more international visitors each year.

Presentations: Peer-reviewed and invited presentations in electronic format are arranged in a number sessions, each with a common theme. There are no formal technical papers, but black and white copies of the presentations are handed out before the conference and the prior year's presentations are available in the archives of our website. There are also several panel discussions where extensive audience participation is encouraged.

The conference has a mixture of manufacturer and vendor presentations. It is not a sales show, nor is it an academic or theoretical conference. It is a broad, probe technology forum where attendees come to learn about and exchange ideas on recent developments in the industry. Everyone is looking to obtain or supply real solutions to present and future problems.

EXPO: Tabletop displays at SWTW provide attendees with a one-stop opportunity to meet firsthand with all the key suppliers and learn about their new products and services.  Exhibit viewing hours DO NOT compete with the technical program.  The exhibit area is open for three hours on Monday evening and on Tuesday afternoon.

Informal Attire and Social Activities: It is a casual and "fun" conference. Informal discussions are an important part of the workshop, so the organizers spend considerable time facilitating these interactions. There are some optional activities Sunday afternoon for early arrivers, cocktail receptions before each dinner, and various leisure activities to enjoy throughout throughout the workshop. Between each session there are strictly enforced 30 minute breaks to relax and informally discuss the presentations.

Registration and Hotel Reservations: The registration fee includes all the meals (spouse's meals can be paid for separately), an optional Sunday afternoon tutorial, all the social activities, and the conference proceedings.

On-line registration will be available in the upcoming months ... Please check back.

Hotel reservations must be made separately.  The SWTW Committee has a negotiated a special conferences rate for attendees of the Workshop.  Please mention that your are attending the "SW Test Workshop" or "Semiconductor Wafer Test Workshop" when you make your room reservations.
